Whiny Wednesday

May 30, 2012

It’s Whiny Wednesday, your chance to really say what’s ticking you off.

This week, my whine is that I could really use a good whine about a couple of things that are rubbing me the wrong way this week, but because I don’t blog under a nickname, I can’t, in case the whinees recognize themselves. So, “harumph!” is all I have to say this week.

You, on the other hand, are free to whine to your hearts’ content. So, please, have a whine for me, too, will you?

Found out last week that my nephew is adopting for the second time. It just fell into his lap, just like the last one (and honestly one in between that they chose not to keep). That’s what comes of having unstable relatives that can’t keep their kids. They didn’t look for any of these.
That on top of his sister, my niece expecting her third baby – a surprise all three and not planned at all.
    Sigh.

THANK you for the opportunity, since I can’t really say anything on my blog of this experience today! šŸ™ I have a job where I see individuals and families. First time I had gone to a house for this kid, they are very poor- bickering at each other, the kids acting out big time, trash in the front yard. The kid pointed at the truck and said “this holds 8 of us!” and the mother said, “and we’ll have a 9th soon….” while smoking and patting her stomach.

    ………………………………….. WHY me?

I’m attending a conference for work where I end up talking to three female colleagues. Of course, “do you have kids” comes up. All three of them have at least two children. I answer in the negative this time instead of saying my usual — that I have two stepdaughters (that always seems to make people more comfortable). After some initial discussion, photo sharing, etc. while I do the obligatory oohing and aahing, one of the women turns to me and asks “Do you have pets?” Argh!!! Then proceeds to tell me about a friend of hers who does not have children but has 3 dogs and 2 cats.

I was told by someone that I didn’t need or deserve my SUV because I have no family. That pissed me off.
