Whiny Wednesday

February 20, 2013

Whiny_WednesdayI always get a chuckle when I see how many comments Whiny Wednesday generates. It is undoubtedly the most popular post of the week.

I don’t have much to whine about this week, but I wouldn’t dream of depriving you of your weekly rant, so please, be my guests and whine away.

Trifecta of celebrity baby announcements yesterday. Fergie, Mario Lopez’s wife, Maya Rudolph from SNL.
I need to stop watching tv for awhile.

I too am so tired of the celebrity baby announcements. Usually reading Hollywood news is my escape. Now I feel like escaping from that as well.

My whine is my employer who does not feel it is important to have a full-time receptionist so that I can actually get my work done without being rude to clients who are sitting at my desk at the same time as I am also trying to answer the phone, schedule more appointments and handle anyone who also walked into the office. Ugh!!!

Boss who decides to turn in his two-week notice right around the time a big, big project is due. I’ve only been here for eight months or so, moved from Architecture to Engineering. I’ve been expected to KNOW Electrical Engineering lately because my boss doesn’t care anymore; he’s mentally checked out of this place. I’ve been working overtime three days in a row now, and I’m fed up with him. One good thing: his last day is this Friday. Boy, I cannot wait.

I’m already in a down bad sad mood…and I know it’ll plummet as I attend the quarterly board meeting today in an hour or so… why? the last friend in my circle is now pregnant- so that means I’ll have to hear a lot of congratations, celebration rah rahs, and all that crap. (normally, for some of you, that’s no big deal, can make other friends- but in my situation, relying on American sign langauge, not spoken language, that’s much harder very few here in town or nearby towns- now with everyone either with a baby or pregnant in my circle and either deaf or signing, I’m pretty much left out in many ways.)

I’m looking into jobs out in other states, in a bigger city.

watching every day a growing belly of my 7-month-pregnant coworker (from the same office). Can’t wait for her to stop working.
(I can handle coworkers with little kids. Pregnant coworkers? Too much too handle…)

I’m paying for not organizing the files on my computer properly. The information is on the desktop, USB, hard drive and network drive. This is worse than weeding out the filing cabinet. I have learnt my tech lesson of the year.

I just called my local Honda dealer to check on my plate. I was put on hold and had to listen to this recording:

“Perhaps you’ve outgrown that sports car you loved when you were younger because you have a new infant. Or, maybe now you’re an empty nester, you’re ready to trade in that minivan for something different.”

Jeez, is there nothing that isn’t geared towards parents and children?

Watching the news in Illinois…between Jesse Jackson, Jr. and the Scott Peterson Appeal…I can’t take it anymore!

I always enjoy reading the Whiny Wednesday posts too!

I think we love Whiny Wednesday because there’s nowhere else we’re really able to say “this happened, and it sucks!”

My whine is that I have tonsillitis. I’m now on day 6 with an extremely sore and swollen throat and sore ears. Antibiotics don’t seem to be working, so I’m back to see dr again tomorrow. And we’ve had a week of beautiful weather, and all I’ve felt like doing is curl up on the couch and try not to swallow! Ouch.

My Friend on FB posted about how her Girls Night out turned into craziness, as she was leaving her parents house (who were watcing her 2 yr old) at 1 am and found a young girl wandering the street in her PJ’s and it was cold (in snow belt town). this was actually a pretty cool and amazing story. The girl was sleep walking and woke up outside and didn’t know her address. So she brought her home and called police to have her returned home. – of course all her friends commented including myself about how scary and crazy that would be . and then her comment that made me HIDE this whole story from my feed. ” Thanks guys. I know all you Parents would have done same thing” I Was FLOORED ~! i vented out loud. This is a friend who i now live 4 hrs away from , since my husband and I moved to the Banana Belt 5 years ago. Yes good thing you were a parent dear friend, because had you not been you might have turned your back on this child who was clearly in need of help. WHAT EVER~!!! to make matters worse, when I vented out lout my husband said “see you are not over it” no I am dealing with being ChildFree but darn it , that does not mean I will agree with STUPID things my friend said. I don’t Know if I can ever tell her how much that irritated me. I think that the “baby Brain” never leaves. it damages their brain just enough to say these STUPID things.
