Good morning and a happy Whiny Wednesday to you.
Are you gearing up to hit the roads or airport today? Good luck. Do you have to face one last dash to the grocery store for the vital ingredient you forget? Take a book to read in line. Are you facing a day of chopping, mixing, and prepping ready for the feeding of the 5,000 tomorrow? Don’t forget to get your self some downtime, too. And if you happen to be spending Thanksgiving alone, come on over and hang out here for a while, if you’d like.
I’m heading north tomorrow, meeting my oldest friend from England in San Francisco and spending a week with her. As she has no concept of Thanksgiving, I am off the hook for turkey and pumpkin pie. Instead, I plan to enjoy some time with someone who’s known me for longer than almost anyone else I know. Can’t wait.
In the meantime, feel free to get out your whines here today and have a very happy Thanks giving tomorrow.
No whine yet, but probably later will want to whine when I fact the traffic going home. But, I’m geting my hair done today, cut and color, so that will be nice and relaxing so maybe I won’t mind the traffic! I’m going to do a little baking tonight, something to take to my sister’s for the holiday and something for our tailgate at the UCONN game on Saturday. I will enjoy the baking – and that’s my sole responsibility for the weekend!
No whine from me today either…I’m reflecting on all my blessings instead š And while I’m doing that, let me take today to say thank you Lisa for this blog…you’ve truly made me feel like I’m not alone in this world, and encouraged me to move on with my life in a positive way. Thank you!!!
CiCi, thank you, too. You couldn’t have picked a better day to offer those very kind words. I am thank full for this community too. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
No concept of Thanksgiving? You need to take advantage of this. Tell her it’s a VERY important American custom when British tourists have to buy an american host (you) dinner.
Happy Holiday Lisa!
I came out of work yesterday to find my (23-year-old!) car window smashed. I’m whining about having to spend a couple hundred $$ to have it replaced because some jerkoff couldn’t just look through it to see nothing worth stealing.
On the other hand, I am thankful that nothing appears to have been stolen, that I don’t keep my garage-door opener in the car, and most especially for my wonderfully compassionate friends who vacuumed out the broken glass. And for the kind CHP officers who responded to the other person’s call (apparently crooks on a spree) and took the reports.
Have a great trip! It sounds wonderful and we look forward to hearing a bit about it when you return.
I had to laugh. My feed showed two new posts – “Lucky Me” and “Whiny Wednesday.” A perfect balance, except that it seems no-one feels like whining this week.
I of course am in NZ, and we don’t have Thanksgiving, and we have an election on Saturday, so I’m going to whine about that, about the fact I need to lose weight and can’t get motivated and so this morning when it was raining (whine) I stayed in bed and didn’t go to the gym, and that I just generally feel bleurgh. I think that whine makes up for all the others who didn’t. š
Have a good trip!
What day is it? Who cares, this is definitely a Whiny Wednesday pisser of an article:
