I was hit hard with a bad cold last week. As I was lying in bed, sweating, groaning, and coughing, I thought what a relief it was that I didn’t have little kids to take care of while I felt so awful.
Except my husband got the same cold (only way worse, of course) so, in a way, I did.
It’s Whiny Wednesday. What are you feeling sorry for yourself about today?

I posted my annual “I hate November” whine a few days ago on my blog, and I am still in a sulky/sorry for myself mood. :p Work is truly crappy right now, my 1998 due date is tomorrow and I just want to hide under the covers for the next few weeks and eat chocolate. :p Hope your cold goes away soon!

Hugs to you Loribeth. Those anniversaries are so hard, even all these years later.

I don’t know if you can hide for a few weeks, but I do know that you can eat loads of chocolate. Big hug!!

Reading an article on cnn.com today about whether or not people prefer male or female bosses (and the reasons why, etc.) and one of the commenters following the article wrote in:
“You know who is worse than a woman boss? A woman boss with no kids. They have nothing to live for, work 12 hour days and expect everyone else to do the same.”
Wow…. Just, wow. That really hurt. I’m still kind of in shock over such stereotyping and insensitivity.

Really? It said that? I almost read that article but got busy and forgot to. Sad that people would actually think that. Being a workaholic has nothing to do with their child status!
Mary says
Hi Tracy,
The article itself did not say this. That particular quote was a comment that a reader posted at the end of the article. A lot of people had a lot of harsh things to say about female bosses, but this was by far the worst. Nobody mentioned male bosses with no children though. Whatever. I don’t understand people today! 😀

Idiot!! Wonder what kind of a boss that particular human specimen would make?
Mary says
Good point Iris!
