In today’s New York Times, two powerful voices in the infertility world, Pamela Mahoney Tsigdinos and Miriam Zoll, discuss the side of the infertility story that so rarely gets heard.
Kudos to these two courageous women for speaking out on this important topic.

I just finished reading this! Excellent article. Here is the comment I left on Paula’s site based on our experience with IVF:
“Thank you for speaking up. The statistics are definitely misrepresented and, in my opinion, skewed. My one and only IVF cycle was cancelled due to my inability to respond to the meds. I was sent home, and told to call back in a few weeks for a second try. When I called to reschedule, the nurse refused to return my calls. I was basically forced out of treatment. We had chosen a Dr. with a good reputation (at least we thought so then) for his high success rate. I see now, that he achieves that by being selective of his patients, not so much because of his great skill. “

Wow. That is absolutely appalling.

Excellent article!!! Hope it gets the focus it deserves! And Jenny, that is how they get their “success” figures by all the people they turn away.

This was an excellent article and I was so glad to see it published by the NY Times so that it will reach a wide audience and be given credibility. I had the same experience as Jenny. Went to the best doctor on the east coast – everyone told me he could help me. He told me I was not a candidate for IVF and wished me luck. He had very high success rates and kept them that way by turning away people he couldn’t help. I suppose he saved me a lot of heartache that other women went through but the honesty was brutal at the time.
